today was pretty neat. crystal gave me a ring after i finished my morning autocad class. originally i was planning on picking up some art supplies and finishing up my homework, but i felt kinda adventurous and decided to take crystal to long beach for some George’s Greek Cafe. my boss used to get order me gyro’s all the time. they’re soooo unbelievably good. just they way they marinate their lamb makes it so flavah-flavorful.

once we finished lunch, we figured that since we already were in long beach, we might as well go to the aquarium…so that’s what we did. and that’s where mr. gay octopus friend (up above) came from. the long beach aquarium is quite a bit different from the monteray bay aquarium, but it’s still pretty nice. i just think they could’ve used their space much more efficiently. and crystal brought up an interesting point–the best part about the AQUArium is their bird section. where you get to buy little cups of nectar for $2, and then enter this netted off area with lots of birds. the birds just hop their way over to you, and creep up to your arm and start drinking away. the reason it’s so cool is ’cause the birds are so used to people, that you don’t have to worry about it being ‘weird’. there were also a couple other cool things, like their endless supplie of purrell filled soap dispensers, but i won’t get into that.

candace and tom came over to hang out, and we had some delicious, but spensive, japanese bbq, next to the oki doki restaurant in costa mesa. there’s this dish of cow tongue that crystal got for us that was pretty good. i recommend it, if you ever go.mm, then after dinner, we met up with jess, marvin, lili, and lisa at irvine lanes for a little bit a bowling. i never get to finish my games. such a suckah. next time we should do the cosmic bowling thing. the night ended with me picking up my good buddy james from work. and then coming back home to watch x japan’s dahlia tour. the end.

so jen convinced me to get an annual pass to disneyland. yeah, it’s a lot of money, but there’ve been many a time when we’ve had nothing to do, and i’m sure there will be many more. so the $198 price tag isn’t too steep, when you consider you only need to go there maybe 3 or 4 times before it gets paid for. plus, it’s great to not be pressured to hurry and finish up all the rides before the park closes, cause you can just come back any time. tah dah~!

so that was pretty much how the day was. meh, i also got my books in the morning. i have one more class of autocad tomorrow, and then i’ma take a nice ef·fer·vesc·ing bath with these bath ball things i got. meh, we’ll see how the weekend goes.

this quarter shall be interesting.

okay, so for he past couple days, i’ve been pretty couped up at home. i’ve been downloading like a maniac for several purposes, but mostly, getting new movies. i want to continue my collection and update it a bit. going along with the updating trend, i’ve been fixing up my mp3 collection. i hate how i can never find songs that i actually want to listen to these days. i wish that i could just start fresh, but there’s too much that i want to keep, and that i wouldn’t be able to get back, once bah-leted. so i’ve been going through and getting rid of a bunch of stuff that i don’t even know. so far i’ve only deleted maybe like 500 songs, out of 8500. but i think it’s going to make a difference. there’s still a bunch of korean stuff that i’m questioning.

anywho, i watched munich and hostel over the weekend.
pretty okay movies.

the past week or two has been pretty rocky.
a lot of stuff has been brought to my attention, and a lot of thinking has been done.
but i pretty much ended up nowhere.
anyway, it’s sorta just hush-hush between some of us, but i don’t really care anymore.

moving along…i decided to go for another drive today.
i wound up driving for 4 hours. i first headed red hill all the way to the end of balboa island.
i checked out some of the scenery behind the houses, and mannnn, there are some beautiful beaches:

i drove down red hill to the end of balboa island.
then i drove all the way up PCH through city after city until i got to the 10 in LA.
around that time, i was getting tired, so i came back.
that’s about it.
damn.
i feel like i just need to keep myself busy all the time.

this sucks.

i think i got it all figured out.

so i’ve already been back for a few days, but the camping trip was great fun.

to recap, marvin, alice and i drove to the campsite (lake morena) tuesday afternoon. by the time we got there, the sun was already starting to set. we pitched our tent and drove a few minutes away to the nearby general store for some forgotten supplies and firewood. this first night, we made a dinky fire and cooked some tri tip loin and korean seafood disc things, while sitting on a sheet of aluminum foil to protect our butts from the dusty ground. without much light or heat, we decided to venture out toward the barely visible lake behind our campsite. the stars were so bright, it was beautiful. the darkness only brought on more cold and wind. jess, mindy and rowland decided to come that same night, so we could get a good start in the morning. we at the campsite didn’t have anything to do, so we just slept. poor alice was freezing all night.
in the morning, jess and i took a stroll around the lake. we found out that it was much bigger than we had first imagined. you could tell from the rocks that the lake was about 4 or 5 feet shallower than usual. for breakfast, we made breakfast burritos, and head out. unfortunately, the plan of renting out boats fell through due to lakc of proper planning. the camp doesn’t do rental during weekdays. so we instead did a little 2 to 3 mile hike to a dam. the dam was sorta, cool but a little weird. meh. it wasn’t anything great, but it wasn’t really all that bad either. it was pretty okay. the hike lasted most of the day, so we started preparing dinner by the time we got back to our site. we had progresso soup, wraps, and garlic salted chicken. ’twas goood. and even better, we made ‘smores afterward. there was a lot of smoke from the jigumbo fire, but it wasn’t tooo bad. we ended the day with a random discussion/conversation around the firepit. the second night was really nice. the windy was causing a big ruckus, making the tent shake and shiver. but it wasn’t all that cold, and there was no icy breeze.
to make a long story short, we left in the morning. filled up gas, and headed back home.
