a good update.

On Sunday, James and I went to a gun show at the OC Fair. I had no idea there was so many gun fanatics in the OC. But yeah, guns cost a buttload. I sorta want a real tactical gun. But I have no use for one. James bought a nice scope for his rifle. It’s pretty sweet. Here here is trying to see if there’s a fence blocking us from shortcutting to the parking lot. It didn’t really work as planned. He couldn’t see the fence.

Jess and Mindy planned out a little trip to Mexico. So I went to pick up James and waited for everyone to come. Eventually all of us gathered, and met up at Starbucks. All together, it was me, James, Marvin, Jess, Rowland, Mindy, Lili, and Lisa. Marvin and I drove to the border in San Diego. It was $7 to park for the day, and then another $3 to ride a bus across the border in Tijuana.

From the station in Tijuana, we had to pay another $12 for a round trip to the awesomely-named city of Rosarito.

The bus smelled so bad. It was one of those coach buses with toilets in the back, and immediately after boarding, you knew it. Luckily the way to Rosarito was less than an hour long and the driver played a bunch of old, but good songs like six pence none the richer, no doubt, and the temptations. For lunch, we were kinda forced into a club on the beach, Club Iggy’s.

Food wasn’t bad, but the tricky bastards billed us with no reciept. Their whole thing was that they wanted to charge us for service (when calculated out, came out to be about $20 for some pretty responsive service). That was all and good, but everyone got different things and as a result, paid different amounts. We just wanted to know how much everyone needed to pay. I think we were all content on splitting the service charge. But still, the manager guy basically refused to reveal how much extra they were charging, and that really pissed us off. Jess had the balls to whip out “Okay, I’m going to be really nice. We’ll pay $100 [out of $110] and call it even.” They said alright, and things were gravy.

Afterward, all but James and I went to go horseback riding. I think they paid $7 each for 30 minutes of riding.

In the meantime, James and I went to the streets to search for some fireworks. We wound up buying a couple M-1000’s and a Cherry Bomb from Alfonso’s Fireworks. The nicest old Mexican dude worked there and made our day. While everyone was still riding their horses, James and I took back to the beach and blew up a pile of seaweed.

No pic of the aftermath though. Anyway, once everyone was back, Lili, Lisa, James and I went ATV riding. You can see them in the background of the Iggy’s pic. It was $20 for 30 minutes of riding. We ended up getting 40-45 minutes though, which was awesome. They took us to a little ovular track further down the beach, where a couple was already. It took some getting used to, but was fun as heck. By the end of the 40 some minutes, our hands were soar, and butts, sweaty. I really want to get ATVs now, but it’d be kinda stupid, seeing how there’s nowhere to ride in the city. We walked around some more and did a little shopping through the hidden street markets. People are kinda pushy, but not as much as in China. You can still bargain rather easily without much hassle. We decided to head back a little early, and grabbed some snackage at Rock ‘n Roll Taco. @ $1.29 per taco, those darn things are pretty good. We grabbed the 6pm bus back to Tijuana, and made it pass the border in no time. Funny thing was that James was able to put our explosives through the x-ray scanners without a word from customs. I don’t know if it’s a good thing that people can sneak shit from Mexico…but I’m glad that we didn’t have to toss our cheap explosives.

We made it to Viejas as planned, but found our their advertised “Hotel across the street” was really an Inn 4 miles down the highway. After a litle talk over some Carl Jr.’s, we decided to go to Barona and high roll it like Kenny Rogers. Here’s a view from our room.

James stayed up the entire night in the poker room. I didn’t gamble at all. In fact I slept all night. Everyone else trickled in through the night. In the morning, I went down to watch James win back some money, as everyone else got up. We lunched at the hotel buffet and headed home. That’s about all. bah, Jon is making me finish this up so we can fix the xbox I broke last year, hehe.

Oh, one thing, gulliver is getting too big. How do I fix it Alice?
