Tkaro Water Bottle

My Tkaro Water Bottle arrived! It’s not really convenient at all, but the design is sexy. Though I’m still hoping VOSS will come out with an all metal bottle top for their line of sparking water.

Relaunch.

After writing a blog entry at Loft85, about the most popular blogging platforms today, I decided to start back up this Posterous blog to round out my collection. Between WordPress, Tumblr, and Posterous, I find that there’s a reason to use each one. That might be hard to understand for newcomers to the medium, but as we move our lives more and more to the web, finer lines of online living organization must be defined. And a big part of that refers to our blogging schema.

Anyhow, this was also a great way to bring back a bunch of old archived posts from who knows how long ago. But overall this was really just my answer to the declassification of posts that Tumblr requires. So I’ll leave my tumblr blog (blog.soopah256.com) as a place for my random internet findings, and this Posterous blog as an outlet for my more introspective thoughts.

Tkaro Water Bottle: The Glass of Water You Take With You

I’ve had a secret obsession with minimalist containers ever since I saw the TGRI canisters from TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze. I don’t know why, but that obsession carried over to water bottles. I’ve been a loyal customer of VOSS Sparkling mainly because of their awesome glass bottle design. My only complaint is that their plastic caps remove from the cold, sleek sexiness that is VOSS. But Tkaro Inc. has their answer to that.

The Tkaro Water Bottle is a simple glass water bottle with a protective stainless steel cover. It comes in a 500ml size making it perfect for daily use. In addition, it’s fully recyclable and dishwasher safe.

Its pureness of material provides an alternative to our growing environmental concerns. Specifically, the consumption of fossil fuels in the production and transportation of single-use plastic bottles, the dumping of these bottles in to landfills world-wide, and the leaching of Bisephenol-A from plastics in to our bodies and ultimately our environment.

The best part about it is that Tkaro offers an engraving service to customize your bottles with corporate or individual identities. So I purchased mine with a simple “Joe” engraved into it:

At $29.95 ($34.95 for an engraved bottle), the Tkaro water bottle is definitely not for everyone. Especially when you add in the $14.15 shipping and handling charge. But if you’re the type of person that lives an Alessi-styled life, then you’re probably already purchasing one now…
