付き纏うさ 鬱の痛みも
This past week had a few cool things. First, an update w/ Alice’s painting. Here’s where it’s come so far:
It’s pretty neat, huh?
The interview itself was really nice. My lady interviewer was actually quite knowledgable on the subject at hand, and was able to ask me some good questions. The whole process took a little over an hour, and I got paid on my way out. The girl receptionist was pretty cute. lol Then last, last Friday early morning, after much debate and waiting, I decided to take the long haul and wait my ass in line for the Gamestop Wii preorder. I first went over to visit James and Karen just to play, cause initially, I wasn’t going to go through with it. But on my way back, I wanted to check out how much the line had grown. And as I was checking, I couldn’t help but pull in and park the car. I got there around 5am and sat in my car for a bit. The morning cold is almost unbearable. My basketball shorts and sandals didn’t help much either. After one of the longest 5 hours of my life, the employees arrived with steaming coffee cups in hand snuck into the store and got things ready for us as slow as humanly possible. A big dude popped out with a bunch of papers listing everything available for preorder, and announced that there were only 32 preorders available (with about 40-50 people waiting in line).
Luckily I was number 11 in line. We would go into the store 5 at a time, and purchase our preorders. My dad also asked me if I could get him one, so it looks like I’ll still be waiting in the Best Buy line with Daniel and Karen this Nov 19th. and foremost, on the 15th, was my mom’s birthday. My brother and I took her out to Roy’s in Fashion Island.
“The first Roy’s opened in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1988. At the time, chef Roy Yamaguchi was the first chef ever to blend European cooking techniques with the fresh local ingredients found in Asia and the Pacific Rim. He calls this style of cooking Hawaiian Fusion cuisine.
Today there are now 33 Roy’s Restaurants in chef Yamaguchi’s Hawaiian Fusion Empire including 24 in the Continental US, 6 in Hawaii, 2 in Japan and 1 in Guam.”
The food was delish and service was superb. The coolest thing was how whenever we got up from our seats, someone would quickly come and reroll our napkins, just so we could unroll them again as soon as we sat back down. They even had a [free] special digital camera and printer on-site for special occasions. We topped off the night with a gift for my mom:
I went back up north with my mom just to drive back down the following day with Sable. The ride was nice, but long.
Something just for kicks…
Every morning when I open up my blinds to let the sun shine down on my little money tree, I get kinda spooked by this little focker.
My neighbor put it up for Halloween, and it’s already been haunting me for a few weeks. bastard. rock the casbah.
