A quick update.

So yeah, my bro’s wedding was a couple weeks ago, but we’re just getting the pictures now. I took a select few of my favorites (mainly of me). Check it:

This was also from a bit ago, but Kwiri took a pic of me for her photography class. You know…the kind where you have to develop them in the dark room with all the dangerous chemicals that can fall over your eyes and blind you. So mad props to Kwiri for not getting blind. The picture now hangs proudly in direct view of my webcam for Calvin and my mom to see.

Over the weekend, I made a stop at Melrose to check out Bape LA and Johnny Cupcakes (Grand Opening August 2nd). It was late and the stores were closed, but I just wanted to snap a few photos cause it’s been a minute.

Lastly, I’ve been getting my denim genes flowing. (you like that huh?) I’ve been doing a lot of research about what makes people so attached to their denim, and why some people are willing to spend hundreds, or even thousands of dollars on a pair. I put up a little video on Xhibiting that takes a look at the care and detail that goes into making some of these expensive jeans.
I’ve been trying to pick up a pair of Evisu’s for a while now, but the 3 Orange County retailers listed on the site either don’t carry them, or just don’t even exist anymore. Now there’s plenty of online stores that have them, but I wanted to make sure that if I’m spending hundoes on some jeans, I gotta make sure they fit well. So I took the advice of Calvin and went in to the Levi’s store at Irvine Spectrum to get a close comparison size with the 501s. I found a great pair of 514s that was 50% off, running me $32.

After saving on these money jeans, I decided to grab a pair from the Evisu online shop. Now I know some of you are thinking, “Joe, you got a pair of Evisu x Pumas already.” Firstly, I’ve lost a lot of weight, and they’re now 4 inches too big for me. Wearing a belt just mushes up all the material, and it looks like crap. Secondly, the quality of the denim is a far stretch from what really comes out of the Evisu factories. So to keep it simple, you don’t understand.

I’ve been doing a lot of exercising lately, including a late night run around my neighborhood every Tuesday and Thursday. I’ve developed this route perfect for me, and have been wanting to map it out for a while now. With this page, it allowed me to do that. Anyway, without further ado:

i remember way back when

posts are becoming far and few.
I was talking with Calvin recently about how homepages are kinda just ghey now.
There’s not really much reason for them anymore, unless you really have a reason to promote yourself. For example, if you’re providing a service of some kind, or are selling something. But otherwise, why does anybody really care to know so much about you.
These days, all the attention goes to blogs. Blogs are still hot, and are just getting started. My friends are just beginning to see the power of Google Reader and RSS feeds. It’s all about getting the content you want, and leaving out the rest.

Not much has been going on in my life. I’ve just been maintaining, which is a feat in itself. I’m still on the path to better myself constantly, but as of now, that path has flattened out a little bit. Work is steady, 2nd work is steady, school is steady, and interests are steady. My main extra curriculars are working out with James and Marvin, and catching up with the few shows I keep up with when I have time. My big thought of the day: I think I’m going to ask out this girl that’s been on my mind. She’s cute. Hope I don’t get owned.

I gave Marvin my old iPhone (first gen). We just finished setting it up today after hitting the gym. It’s great, now we can all Loopt, and send each other ghey international text messages. It’ll be fun.
