Here’s another update of the 2nd floor living area and master bedroom:
The wall color was darker than I anticipated, but I like it so far. In fact, I’ll probably flush my initial plans of individually painting some walls.
I’m anticipating the installation of kitchen and living room cabinetry. You’ll see. π
Here’s an evening shot of the community in progress:
I hate shaving. It’s not that I hate the act of shaving, but really the act of repurchasing razors. They just seem so unecessarily expensive. As a matter of fact, I think the only razors I’ve ever owned are the ones that P&G sent me for my 18th birthday (luckily for me they thought I turned 18 twice). Okay, I’m lying. I’ve gone to Costco to purchase that giant 25-pack of cartridges once or twice–but I hated it.
A few weeks ago I watched Put This On Episode 4: Grooming, and decided to give the traditional wet shave a go. Here’s the set I’m currently looking to put together:
MÜHLE R101 Tooth Comb Safety Razor
MÜHLE M106 Silvertip Badger Shaving Brush
MÜHLE S971 Stand for razor and brush
MÜHLE RSAV Aloe Vera shaving soap
I still haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but I expect to in the near future. I’ll report back my findings.
Now that the garage door is put in, it looks like they’re locking the front and side doors when they leave.
Found a folder of screenshots back from when I was into modding my WinXP desktop. These are from a short period between Oct 2002 to Jan 2003 when I was using my 13.3″ 1024*768 IBM Thinkpad 600E. Enjoy.
Btw, I was going to remove the screen names shown in my buddylist, but who the hell still uses their old AIM screen names? π

Dry wall is up. I didn’t get to see them insulate the interior walls, so I guess I have to trust that my walls aren’t hollow. π
I took panoramas to compare with the previous week’s again. Here’s the 2nd floor living room:
Here’s the master bedroom:
A few more angles of the 2nd floor:
I noticed in the garage, all the service cables (satellite, cable, telephone) are passed through to each house. It’s a smart way to wire the building. Since my house is on the end, I essentially have access to my neighbors’ tv/internet/phone service. Of course it’ll be secured, but it’s good to know I have options when the neighbors get too noisy.
Had a pre-drywall walkthrough with Chuck on Wednesday, so no call from him today.
The house is really coming along–it’s actually beginning to feel like a house. This week the electrical and exterior insulation was installed, so everything looks pink. Here’s another look at the 2nd floor living room today (compare it with last week’s):
A shot of the 3rd floor master bedroom:
And a few more images around the house:
One thing I wanted to mention was a design option that I opted for called a “smurf tube”. It basically is a tube integrated into the wall allowing cables to be easily passed through. The one I chose in particular was for the living room TV area. The cost?
Expensive right? Yeah, a bit. But I know that it’d be something I’d regret when it comes time to wall mount my TV with cables dangling about. The cost is worth it.
Today I was reminded of what it actually is–a tube nailed to some wood.
That cost one-hundred and thirty-five dollars. Amazing.
I was a little reluctant to give Facebook another shot, but after seeing a few of the partnerships and app integrations from today’s f8 I really think FB is beginning to treat their role as a social network with respect. Timeline is turning out to be a great balance of top, recent, and relevant info (something that Google+ is currently struggling with).
So far, I’m happy with it.
